Sommerville Valley Tourist Park
In the heart of Queensland's Granite Belt
Sommerville Valley Tourist Park is located 12 km from Stanthorpe in a beautiful and quiet area on Storm King Dam. The dam offers great swimming, fishing, boating and canoeing. We are close to wineries, berry farms and several National Parks.
We have spacious powered sites with level concrete slabs and bushy unpowered sites available, all with a spectacular view of the lake. Most of our caravan sites are drive-through sites and we can accommodate very large caravans, motor homes and 5 wheelers.
Our park has a number of small Non-Ensuite cabins on offer, or if you prefer a bit of luxury, stay in one of our stunning resort apartments. The apartments’ prime waterfront location guarantees magnificent views of the lake and the surrounding native bush. Cool breeze and the soothing sound of water will gently lull you to sleep.
Our park offers four modern camp kitchens, amenities blocks with hot showers and a laundry, undercover barbecue areas, a community room and free WIFI. We have a kiosk, which sells ice, ice creams, soft drinks and basic groceries. We sell firewood. There is a boat ramp nearby.
Spot our local wildlife, such as kangaroos, wallabies, possums, lizards, parrots, cockatoos, pelicans, and swans. Enjoy the peace, quiet and privacy of Sommerville Valley Tourist Park and experience the brilliant sunsets and night skies as you sit around the campfire.

Things To Do
The Granite Belt is a premium food and wine destination surrounded by stunning National Parks. Visit one or more of the cellar doors of the many wineries and purchase a fine drop. If wine is not to your taste, make sure you visit the one of the micro breweries in the area for a great range of craft beers. Being a major food bowl for Queensland, there is a wide variety of seasonal fruit and vegetables available, and the region boasts a large number of fine restaurants, cafes and produce shops, selling cheese, chocolate and preserves.
When you’re done feasting, enjoy a round of golf, get lost in the Maze or catch the Law Dogs Australia Show. Take a day to browse the local museum or art galleries. Or spend the day at the park, fishing, canoeing, boating, or swimming, or just relaxing and watching the wildlife on the dam from the comfort of your accommodation.
Stanthorpe also offers some great festivals to add to your travel plans. In July there is the Snowflakes Festival, and in March the Apple & Grape Festival.
